Project #12 another dawn braille sculpture

Another dawn is a scrap-media sculpture showing the new dawn, beginning of a new, as only leftover – and mixmatch parts can. Base is a countertop sample piece, the aluminum body once served as a part of some useful gadget, and wooden beads came from old ponytail holder. (Click image to view a slideshow)
Braille code has been once again turned into 3D form; the aluminum wire and beads write the pattern of Braille alphabets floating in the air, and the same text, ‘another dawn’ is repeated 2D in the front by punching the text through recycled beer can aluminum.

This sculpture is available for $50 around the globe, contact Veera for more details.

Project #11 three sisters led-light sculpture

With the desperate need to feel the warming sunlight again on my face after the winter, some nostalgic feelings brought up a wonderful trip from Australia in '90s and magnificent Blue Mountain memories. Not able to capture the views, the formation of the Three Sisters appeared in my mind, when I saw wrapping tubes used as stuffing in a UPS delivered box.

After digging into my raw material pile, I found also a sample of oak veneer countertop and set of Ikea led lights, that are safe with paper as they do not heat up, and I was ready to drill, hammer and bend the wire, get everything together, and there I saw them again: Three Sisters from the wild of Australia. These memories are available for $75. Slideshow for Lightheaded Woman

It takes us far daily to use our imagination, and in this case, I got a lot of satisfaction, creating the little nightlight out of a piece of old window screen, Ikea curtain pull, and actual piece of driftwood from Virginia Beach, topped to show light with a piece of ductape and Christmas House light. Voilá! She looks almost Victorian with her windy cape...

Lightheaded Woman nightlight sculpture available for $75, size approx 11x8"x4', contact Veera for more info.

Project #8 solar plexus

Getting closer to the needed season change , this old processor remain from a computer brings a cry for spring and sun as project #8 for this year. The title, solar plexus, is a spot in human torso with radiating nerve fibers. Thought it was exactly what every cell in my body is doing right now, not painfully, but reaching for energy, light, sun, radiating feelings.
