Mayfest Fashion Show Project week 19

Project week 19 was fashion show; Mayfest at Pajama Factory in Williamsport, PA. I executed 3 dresses from fabrics that are available at Spoonflower, Iris stripes and swirly curves. Both fabric patterns have Braille-writing in freehand circles drawn onto them, depicting the title of the fabric. Both of these fabrics were original designs of my daughter Iris, which I then digitalized, created raport for the fabric printing and downloaded to Spoonflower. The fashion show also included my jewelry that I have created out of recycled materials; feather bib out of milk carton plastic and coffee container metal, and orange earrings shown with Iris stripes dress here have been made of leftover leather strips and belt buckles.

Project #17 cow jewelry stand

Cow in front of huge ad stand features project number 17, ‘cow jewelry stand’. That’s right, you can hang jewelry from the ad part and the pasture grass is perfect for watches, rings and brooches to rest when not in use. Idea for this piece came from Geico’s ad, where old McDonald fails in a spelling competition after adding ‘eieiou’ after spelling cow. Dagnabbit, this is available for a new home for $50 as most of the project of the week sculptures. Made out of sanded 2x4”, birch plywood, astro turf, glue, screws, acrylic paint, and of course, starring a miniature railway accessory cow.
